Homework 3

Option 1 .. Galapagos Islands under threat
The Galapagos islands are among the most biodiverse in the world. Nevertheless the biodiversity of these islands is under threat due to invasive species. Find out why the authorities have decided to exterminate 180 million rats and write an article for Besto newspapers. A good article will explain and/or mention most of the following
* what an invasive species is. *How and why the rats got to the islands. *What particular threat to the islands the rats represent. *What measures the authorities will take to destroy the rats. *Where the Galapagos islands are. *The historical significance of the islands as a result of the visit and work of Charles Darwin. *A brief mention of other troublesome invasive species.
Option 2 .. Identification key.
Ask your parents if you can print out a small picture of any group of four; amphibians, reptiles, fish or birds and draw an identification key. Show the key and the pictures to your friend and ask him or her to identify your organisms.
